Bunker Hill Security Camera Drivers

5/8/2019
Learning has never been so easy!

If you shop at Harbor Freight then you have likely either considered buying one of their 4 Camera DVR systems or Bought one. At $299 (sometimes $199) its not really that bad of a deal.

Youtube vadivelu comedy videos. Well upon buying them you may noticed that you ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get the email alerts to work. There is a problem in the firmware version: V4.5-V120215 where the email alerts simply do not work. It doesnt even attempt to work.

After HOURS of trying this and that, i have found a solution.

First I went to 'http://www.nightowlsp.com/Products/Discontinued-Items_2/LION-4500#' as it is the EXACT same model as the Bunker Hill 68332. I then found the firmware download button at the bottom and downloaded the firmware that they offer for that product. Direct Link fore the firmware file is 'http://nightowltechsupport.com/file.php?id=33'.

(side note): The netviewer application can be downloaded from nightowl via this link 'http://nightowltechsupport.com/file.php?id=46'

Once it was downloaded the version number of the firmware they use is different than Bunker Hill so this presented a challenge. After following the instructions in the .txt for uploading that firmware my DVR said that there was no new updates available. So I assumed it had to be an issue with how the firmware was named (it looked for a higher number in the name to allow an upgrade). I looked at my DVR's firmware model and it was a V4.5-V120215. So I changed the first instance of '120215' to 120216 (one number higher than 120215. Then attempted to upgrade. It seemed like it was going to accept it by saying it was upgrading. After it rebooted I looked at the firmware version and it hadnt updated. Then I got the idea that it was looking at multiple numbers in the upload and was requiring them ALL to be higher numbers. So I changed ALL numbers between all the V's to 120216. SO the file name then appeared as 'AL9004_V120216V120216V120216V120216'. then attempted to upload from that and it WORKED!. When the device rebooted the firmware version was now V4.5-V101030 (the 101030 was the original last set of numbers between the last two V's). SO now my device has the latest WORKING firmware version that NightOwl had developed for this device before it was discontinued.

All of my configuration settings were still there.

Here are the settings I used.

Email: ON
SSL: ON
SMTP PORT: 465
SMTP: smtp.gmail.com
Send Email: DVR@###########.com (my email is hosted by Google Apps)
Send PW: ##########
RECV Email: DVR@###########.com

This will also work by using a regular yourname@gmail.com account as a send email

Since im using gmail I HAD to set my devices DNS settings to 008.008.008.008

I have FULL recording on so that it would only send me a .jpg when ever it detected motion on my camera 1.

I Applied the settings and for the 5000th time I ran out side and waved my arms in view of the camera.

About 25 seconds later my email account received and email from my DVR with a .jpg attached of me standing there.

When I saw it come in I was so incredibly happy. I have spent COUNTLESS HOURS. atleast 15+ (over the course of a month) trying to get this to work.

Just to test it out again I ran out there again and withing a few seconds another one came in!!! so happy if you cant tell.

SO now I went on to the next thing I wanted. My email to send me TEXT alerts when ever it received an email from my DVR. SO first I sent a text message (Iphone with AT&T) to my DVR@#########.com so I could find my phones 'text message email address'. Once I had that I went to settings in my gmail account and then to forwarding. I added that address to the forward list and it sent me a confirmation number. Once I confirmed that on my gmail account I enabled forwarding to that number and hit save.

I ran back out in view of the camera and with in about 45 secs my email account had forwarded the message from my DVR to my cell in text message form with the picture attached.

AND BAM. Thats how you fix the Bunker Hill Item 68332 Email Alerts like a BOSS.

Your welcome.

MODIFIED. Corrected a small confusion where i stated to change the numbers in the downloaded file between the first two V's to the actual number that needs to be changed. This should clear things up for some users.

I also updated the direct link for the firmware file download.

Hope this helps.

Remember to spice it up if it was helpful :) Tokyo godfathers 2003 torrent download.

It would be easier to read if it was formatted in steps. Example:
    Step 1) blabla..
    Step 2) ..

I'm currious if the firmware upgrade you did will help with anything else. Maybe better quality video or different recording options etc. Did it change anything else? Thanks.

Only thing left to do was to adjust cameras outside if needed and veiw on my 60' flat screen.Bunker Hill or Amazon sells an additional 60-100 foot BNC/RCA cable that can attach to the included 60 foot cables if extra footage is desired.. I found that Bunker Hill they offer 2 different cameras within box that are weather proof, but sometimes gets a little moisture or fog on the inside lens obscuring video recording .. I simply rubbed a light silicone clear gel along every seam, screw, and where wire enters into camera with my index finger..and a little around its pivot arm to keep it positioned..3 1/2 years later ZERO fog or moisture..oh yeah the box comes with 2 small but sturdy colored cameras 3.5 mm & 6.0 mm wide angle which I highly prefer over the 3.5mm.. The 3.5 is very good, its just that the 6.0mm offers more coverage..you can buy the 100 ft extra cable from Bunker Hill or AMAZON, for around $13 ..Bunker Hill has extra cameras for around $15 each, good price!! Contact Harbor Freight or go online to bunkerhill.com to get direct phone number.. FYI a company called X10 Camera has a PAN&TILT NINJA BASE motorized unit that I've purchased ($40) and attached my Bunker Hill cameras with screws, nuts, and washers and now I can remotely follow the action by either continuous sweep, manually scan, or leave it in it's fixed position..LOVE both products.. Haven't gotten internet setup yet because I need IP ADDRESS, software downloaded, and technician who knows how to set that part up..but I still can record any events off my monitoring screen to my Android phone..scrupulous people trespassing, loitering, stealing packages, urinating, ect..The camera doesn't LIE . LOVE IT. !! got mine from Harbor Freight tax and all $286. paid its self off in 1st three months of using, next door neighbor doesn't backup into my car anymore because camera doesn't LIE.. SUPER SHARP PICTURE.. OPTIONAL AMAZON:: has a 940 NANO METER that is 'invisible' to naked eye but highly visible to cameras. Will illuminate area anywhere from 50feet up to 300feet . like Day Light to the cameras, only PROWLERS think they're in pitch darkness .!! BUSTED.. They also have a 840 Nano Meter the only difference is its LEDs admit a warm reddish soft glow at night that is slightly visible to the naked eye..I have both with 200 foot range.. Works as advertised sold by Amazon from CM vision around $55.00 plus shippin..both have dusk to dawn sensor, low electricity led bulbs..if you find somethin cheaper..Grab it ..5 stars for Bunker Hill..hope this was helpful see less I found as a novice 1st timer installator it was real easy.
